Relationship between phoneme-level spectral acoustics and speech intelligibility in healthy speech: a systematic review

چکیده

This study aims to systematically review original articles investigating the link between spectral acoustic measures in healthy talkers and perceived speech intelligibility, according PRISMA guidelines. Twenty-two studies were retained. Eighteen papers investigated vowel acoustics, one studied glides eight consonants, mostly sibilants. Various intelligibility estimates used. The following shown be linked sub-lexical ratings: for vowels, steady-state F1 F2 measures, range, [i]-[U] difference, F0-F1 F1-F2 differences [è-A] [q-è], space area, mean amount of formant movement, vector length change measure; centroid energy peak [s]-sound, as well offset frequency vowels preceding [t] [d].To conclude, is highly variable even adult speakers, a better understanding imprecisions spontaneous will provide more realistic baseline investigation disordered speech. To date, no measure able predict large extent. There still extensive research carried out identify relevant combinations that could account variations (e.g. consonant reductions) gather normative data from number speakers. end, speech-related terms comprehensibility, severity) need clearly defined methodologies described sufficient details allow replication, cross-comparisons/meta-analyses pooling data. .

Relationship between Working Memory, Auditory Perception and Speech Intelligibility in Cochlear Implanted Children of Elementary School

Objectives: This study examined the relationship between working and short-term memory performance, and their effects on cochlear implant outcomes (speech perception and speech production) in cochlear implanted children aged 7-13 years. The study also compared the memory performance of cochlear implanted children with their normal hearing peers. Methods: Thirty-one cochlear impl...

Relationship between speech motor control and speech intelligibility in children with speech sound disorders.

UNLABELLED The current study was undertaken to investigate the impact of speech motor issues on the speech intelligibility of children with moderate to severe speech sound disorders (SSD) within the context of the PROMPT intervention approach. The word-level Children's Speech Intelligibility Measure (CSIM), the sentence-level Beginner's Intelligibility Test (BIT) and tests of speech motor contr...

Phoneme Based Acoustics Keyword Spotting in Informal Continuous Speech

This paper describes several ways of keywords spotting (KWS), based on Gaussian mixture (GM) hidden Markov modelling (HMM). Context-independent and dependent phoneme models are used in our system. The system was trained and evaluated on informal continuous speech. We used different complexities of KWS recognition networks and different types of phoneme models. The impact of these parameters on ...

Speech Intelligibility of Cochlear-Implanted and Normal-Hearing Children

Introduction: Speech intelligibility, the ability to be understood verbally by listeners, is the gold standard for assessing the effectiveness of cochlear implantation. Thus, the goal of this study was to compare the speech intelligibility between normal-hearing and cochlear-implanted children using the Persian intelligibility test.   Materials and Methods: Twenty-six cochlear-implanted childre...
